The Tao of Gaming

A note on comped games

Spielfrieks recently exploded into a long, bitter discussion about reviewing comped games. While watching people miss the point and fling insults, I decided to formulate a clear policy.

My reputation is worth more than a couple of games. Duh.

That being said, when some game company has Angelina Jolie deliver my Ferrarri, I am so selling you Candyland. Don't say you weren't warned.

Angelina will rub away the guilt.

Glad I'm not on Spielfrieks...

In scholarly (history) book reviews, the reviewer (almost) always gets a copy of the book, and typically reviewers only review books they want anyway...often in order to *get* said book. And with all that, there are still plenty of negative reviews out there, and most reviews (+ and -) are of high quality. Sure, there are some axes ground, but still. It seems to be a decent enough institution.

I guess what I'm saying is this: If any game companies are reading this, send me the games you were going to send Brian.

Brian (www):
Agreed. You get the games. I get the vixens.

So now we know what to put on the prize table for Brian!
