The Tao of Gaming

Abre los Ojos!

I'm back.

Last night's gaming was more Cash n' Guns. We tried the 'cop' variant (a sort of "Werewolf" dig). It's tough to win as the cop, although I did pull it off one game when the losing player shot the leading gangsters in the last round, and they didn't shoot me. [Of course, I was only in that position because my special power was "Survive until you get four wounds." Perhaps it would be easier for the cop with six players. Anyway, I'm still enjoying this.

Also had a strange game of War of the Ring. My first three cards from the character deck? Ents, Ents and more Ents. There are only 3 ent cards out of 24. So the odds against a full-enraged Ent army after the 3rd draw are 2023:1 against. It took a few turns to roll a Will of the West, and the fellowship suffered a card-infliced random casualty on Strider, so things looked grim. But then I got Gandalf, the Ents rampaged, and Saruman died. The good luck kept on rolling. At the initial siege of Helm's Deep the free-people inflict 5 casualties to none. Lorien fell, but with almost no support Rohan brought a massive army to bear and took it back. I dunked the ring on turn nine having only lost Minas Trith.

Also played Geschenkt and the new version of Family Business. My earlier version of Family Business scarred me, but apparently not for life. This time we had player aids, so it was a fast, painless game. Mind you, it's just "Haha! Take That," but at 15 minutes there's nothing wrong with that.

And now I'm placing a huge order. Life is good. This also means that if anyone wants to buy/trade some of my extras to make space, now is a good time.
