I just (today) noticed Keldon's Blue Moon program w/AI (via this thread on BGG). I've just tried a game or two against the computer opponent, and it seems credible. (I'm no expert). Clearly if Neural Nets can handle Blue Moon, they should be able to handle Race...
Also, the tasks aren't quite analogous, since the programmer of the BM AI took a short cut but programming in some strategy advice for each of the decks. That's one reason why it doesn't support deck-building (it's in the thread, waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy down there).
Unfortunately the one Mac configuration that isn't well supported is pre-10.5, Intel processor machines, which just happens to be a couple of the machines I use. Hopefully we'll upgrade to Leopard soon.

I usually play Khind, and the actual matchup makes a big difference. I can defeat Mimix, Vulca and Pillar without thinking.
The first version apparently had a bug that would cause the CPU to decline fights a lot, and most people were slaughtering it, so it's possible that Chris started with that version, especially on a Mac.
